Fire risk information for service providers

The Fire Risk Management Unit (FRMU) can inspect the physical aspects of a building and provide advice relating to fire safety measures.

They will identify appropriate judgements regarding fire risk and recommend suitable measures to eliminate, or manage these risks. This is in accordance with the Capital development guidelines - series 7 and regulatory requirements.

The fire services upgrade and maintenance program and the capital services upgrade program, which address fire services, are managed by the FRMU. The process involves reviewing the essential safety measures and standard obligations for all properties owned, operated and funded by us.

All fire incidents in properties owned, operated and funded by us are recorded by the FRMU. This is with the expectation that the number of fires can be reduced through education and awareness of its clients.

The unit assists in planning and managing bushfire preparedness programs for identified areas at risk of bushfire.
