It also ensures compliance with relevant statutory acts, regulations and fire safety guidelines.
We provide professional and technical advice, and program maintenance on departmental properties.
Capital Development Guidelines
In August 2013 the new Capital Development Guidelines Series 7 were endorsed by the Department of Human Services, Homes Victoria, Department of Health, Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board and Country Fire Authority.
These guidelines provide direction to qualified professionals on subjects such as:
- Fire safety
- Minimum safety requirements
- Audits and fire risk assessments.

Accreditation
To work with the department as a fire safety engineer, building surveyor or building inspector now requires accreditation.
