Child sexual abuse civil claims

The Common Guiding Principles provide guidance on how departments should ordinarily respond to civil claims involving allegations of child sexual abuse.

These principles were announced on Thursday, 8 May 2014 as part of the Victorian Government’s response to Betrayal of Trust, the report of the Family and Community Development Committee’s Inquiry into the Handling of Child Abuse by Religious and Other Non-Government Organisations.

The Common Guiding Principles can be found on the Department of Justice and Regulation website.
