The Temporary absence operational guidelines apply when the department is notified that there is going to be a temporary absence from a public housing property between six weeks and six months, the department becomes aware that a tenant has been absent from the public housing property, or a sole tenant who is absent due to special circumstances and is living in the property for less than three nights a week.
